Education

The Next Step Program is a university based inclusive academic and career guidance program for youth and adults who have learning disabilities, mild intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other mental delays. At Next Step we believe that no one is left behind and education for special needs is the students’ right and not a privilege. Each individual has strengths and interests at which he/she excels. Our job as educators at Next Step is to highlight and focus on these strengths and try to work more to improve areas where the student needs support.

Students in this program enjoy the same status as any AUB student with most of the benefits AUB students have. They can be part of the social system, the clubs, the activities and have a lot of privileges allowing them to experience independent adult life.
